GLS > Kristin and Emily in front of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg before our group visit and briefing. The main aim of the Council, founded in 1949, is to protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law within Europe.

GLS > A very large world clock at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

GLS > This is the main Parliamentary debating chamber of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France. There are seats for 600 delegates and a public gallery with seating for 220 visitors and journalists.The two official languages at the Council of Europe are French and English, with German, Italian, and Russian used as working languages. Visitors can often watch the debates and use the headsets next to their chair for language translations.

GLS > Luxembourg is a beautiful city, with lovely gardens, squares, and parks. In addition, it is home to several institutions of the European Union and has the highest Gross Domestic Product per capita in the world.

GLS > Serena, Allison, Kristin and Emily outside the Duke’s Palace in Luxembourg, the official residence of the Grand Duke and the place where he performs most of his duties as the head of state of the Grand Duchy (The only Grand Duchy still in existence today is Luxembourg).

GLS > A view of the Town Hall at night in Leuven, Belgium. Leuven is a young, vibrant university town with many shops, restaurants and cafes in the center.
